Dooley Noted: 10/27/14
I’m 36.
But I’m not completely grown.
Every day, I have the honor of growing my knowledge base.
I made it a point to surround myself with the people that inspire me.
Nearly every weekday, I teach alongside experienced anatomists. Several of them are working well into their 80s. It’s not because they have to do it. They simply love anatomy so much they can’t imagine life away from it.
As an anatomy instructor, I’m surrounded daily with eager, open minds. Their tenacity makes me tenacious to help them in any way I can.
Between teaching sessions, I have the honor of working out of a gym I co-own.
I watch skilled trainers and practitioners work with focused, disciplined clients. Then I train alongside some of the strongest and most humble people I know. Their strength makes me strive for my own strength.
I treat patients who invest in themselves to pay out of pocket for my care and attention. Their self sufficiency makes me want to take better care of myself, too.
You really are who you hang with.
I hang with some of the best because I want to be the best version of myself possible.
I’m not growing older. I’m growing up in quality. And I want to be like the people in my day when I grow up.
As always, it’s your call.
