Some of the best moments of my life have been spent in deep conversations about things that have touched my soul.
The rest were when I put up and shut up.
I believe in keeping company that builds you up instead of dragging you down. And I believe in being that for other people.
I won’t tolerate being condescended to – or to being condescending to others.
So, I will not just do one-arm chin-ups on the subway. I will encourage you to do them, too.
It’s New York. People are starring in their own movie. They don’t care what you are doing.
The same could be said for most of the world. In New York, we are just more open about it.
So, when 11 of my colleagues stayed with me for a seminar, we rode the subway together and inspired each other to complete feats of strength.
Back at my place, we ripped phone books and bent bolts.
We tore cards and wouldn’t let each other trash talk ourselves with phrases like, “I can’t do it,” or, “It’s too hard.”
Of course it’s hard!
Put up or shut up. Be the strength in your company, and inspire them to be the same.
Or, you can judge the others in your company for living life to the fullest and seeing exactly from what they are made.
As always, it’s your call.
