1. Do study and advance yourself every day of your life. 2. Don’t hide behind the fact you may not be very smart. My IQ is average, but it’s been my greatest gift to not be very smart. My discipline looks like intelligence, and no one can tell the difference in most settings. Stop hiding, and get to work. It’s worth it, because the fun is in the process.

1. Do push yourself and put more weight on the bar. 2. Don’t talk yourself out of lifting it because it looks heavy. If you can do ten pounds less for 3 with relative ease, you can do ONE with more. This applies to most of life’s strength tasks. The mind is where strength must lay!

1. Do prioritize what you want to get done. 2. Don’t claim to be “too busy.” It’s a load and my least favorite excuse. Busy is an illusion.

Dooleys and Don’t-Leys #13

1. Do tell people around you what they mean to you on a regular basis. 2. Don’t fail to contemplate what they mean to you as you go through life’s motions.

At 12:12 pm on 12/12/12, I was teaching the spermatic cord contents to a brilliant, attentive and hilarious group of med students who stopped everything to acknowledge the moment. We agreed there was no place we’d rather be. So.Much.Fun. In case you need the mnemonic for the cord’s contents, it’s “Pampers don’t contribute to a very good social life.” 😉
